The CBE has extended the validity of some previously instated measures to confront the pandemic, from January 1st until June 30th, 2022.
More Details🧐 These measures include:
- Exempting customers from all EGP-denominated expenses related to bank transfer services
- Issuing electronic wallets for free
- Exempting customers from all transfer fees between mobile phone accounts & mobile phone accounts to bank accounts
- Issuing prepaid cards to citizens free of charge
- Exempting customers from all cash withdrawal-related fees
Why is this Important🤔 The CBE stated it will continue to monitor local & global developments, & implement appropriate measures to protect the economy, revitalize the market, & maintain banking & monetary stability.
