The Clap
U.S. drugmaker Eli Lilly & Co. (NYSE: LLY) will suspend investment in Russia, as well as “non-essential” medicine.
Not everything’s being suspended
Pharmaceutical companies find themselves in an ethically different position than financial institutions or tech giants that winded down their operations in Russia.
How so?
Big pharma companies have a humanitarian duty towards patients with extreme cases, such as cancer & diabetes.
Other pharmaceutical companies including Pfizer & Germany’s Bayer were unable to suspend all operations in Russia, as they face the same ethical dilemma as Eli Lilly & Co.
