The Clap
Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) delivered 310,048 vehicles in Q1-2022, exceeding analyst expectations while faced with “supply chain interruptions,” according to CEO Elon Musk.
The deets
Total EVs delivered were 68% more than Q1-2021. Model 3 & Model Y vehicles made up 95% of deliveries in Q1-2022, while the rest were Model S luxury sedans & Model X premium SUVs.
Why this matters
Production fell, however. Tesla produced 4,641 fewer EVs than it delivered in Q1-2022. Decreased production came as a result of inflationary pressures on raw materials, as well as a suspension of Tesla’s Shanghai factory due to COVID-19.
