The Clap
The Ministry of Trade and Industry decided to strike off a number of companies from the list of companies eligible to export to Egypt.
The deets
Back in March, the ministry amended the rules regulating factories and companies wishing to export to Egypt.
Companies that were written off must renew their documents within a period not exceeding 30 days from the date of expiry.
The ministry pointed out that if a document expires, a two-week warning is issued on the authority’s website. If the renewal hasn’t been submitted, suspension procedures take effect for a year. In the event of non-renewal, the company will be written off due to its lack of seriousness in entering the Egyptian market.
What companies have been written off?
Companies that saw exports to Egypt suspended include Unilever, Redbull, El Marai.
