The Indian government issued a statement announcing that it would exclude Egypt from its wheat-exporting ban decision.

Indian government agreed on exporting all the shipments that were handed to customs for examination & also those which were registered in its systems on 13 May 2022 and before.
The statement clarified that despite the ban, the government will export wheat whenever it agrees to the requests of importing countries to secure their food needs.
Egypt is awaiting 61.5k tons of wheat to be shipped from Indian ports.

India decided to ban wheat exports after a heatwave that affected its production and raised wheat prices significantly in India.
