The Clap
In a letter to Twitter, Elon Musk accused the social platform of “resisting” his right to information on spam bots.
Backstory
Musk recently challenged Twitter’s annual report claim that spam bots make up less than 5% of its users, arguing that it’s much higher. The price of the deal could be renegotiated based on the revised number, but Twitter has so far failed to show proof of their less than 5% claim.
Why this matters
Some analysts believe Musk is looking to negotiate a lower price through this strategy. If that’s the case, then it’s a risky one, as the billionaire faces a lawsuit arguing he broke laws by making investors doubtful about the deal being completed.
