The Clap

The Deets
Egypt recorded a trade deficit of $1.7 billion in April 2022, down from $3.62 billion in April 2021.
The value of exports in April 2022 had increased to $4.94 billion, up from $3.2 billion last year.
This significant increase can mainly be attributed to petrol exports which saw a 204% increase, as well as increase in exports of fertilizers and clothes.
We also see imports of a few commodities go down, with imports of fruits going down by around 15% among other things.
Import and Export levels
Egypt has witnessed a fluctuation in the import and export levels due to a number of reasons.
The price increase or decrease of some of the commodities has an effect on the import and export levels.
