The Clap
Twitter shares fell after it was reported the buyout deal by Elon Musk is less likely to happen.
Wasn’t it already less likely to happen?
Musk has already threatened to negotiate a lower price, or pull out altogether. But this time, an article by The Washington Post said Musk’s team could be “making a change in direction” after determining they won’t be able to find out Twitter’s spam account numbers.
Why this Matters
If Musk chooses to pull out, not only will he incur a $1 billion breakup fee, but he could face charges by Twitter for backing out for non-core-business-related reasons.
