Tesla wants to power the EV industry 🔌

The Clap
Tesla wants to open its US supercharger network to other EV manufacturers.

The Deets
Tesla is looking to secure federal funding in order to speed up building a fast charger network where all EV owners can be reassured.

Tesla already has their own fast charging network that powers their own EVs across the US. The company had previously stated they plan on opening their US network to other EV manufacturers.

Recent regulatory filings show that the company is applying for public funding that would require access by other makers of EVs to the network.

Tesla will begin production of new Supercharger equipment that will allow other EV manufacturers in North America to use Tesla Superchargers.

Why now?
The Biden administration is preparing to give states $7.5 billion for charging stations, part of a $1 trillion infrastructure bill.
