President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued a decision appointing Hassan Abdalla as the acting governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, following Tarek Amer’s resignation.
Who is Hassan Abdalla?
– Hassan Abdalla holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Business Administration.
– He began his career at the Arab African International Bank, where he eventually became vice chairman and managing director.
– He was on the board of directors of numerous entities, including the Institute of International Finance, the EGX, the CBE, GB Auto, Orascom Development, and Telecom Egypt.
– The last position he held before being appointed as acting CBE governor was chairman of the board at United Media Services.
Hassan Abdalla’s Biggest Accomplishments
Hassan Abdalla played a very big role in merging AAIB with Misr America International Bank, after acquiring the bank for EGP 240 million in 2005. This was the first merger between private banks in Egypt.
