The Clap
Fox, NBC, & CBS have signed a deal with the Big Ten conference league, which is the oldest Division I collegiate athletic conference in the U.S.
The Deets
The deal is valued at $7 billion over seven years. Fox is the biggest stakeholder in the deal & will therefore get to stream the best games. NBC & CBS each bought their stakes for $350 million/year.
Why this Matters
ESPN held the streaming rights for the Big Ten for the past 40 years. Now, the three networks will hold a draft to decide on which one gets to stream which games.
The $7 billion deal is also reportedly the highest-ever on an annual basis.
