Qalaa Holdings’ subsidiary Taqa Arabia has commenced operations at its solar power plant in Sharm El Sheikh in anticipation for COP27.

The plant cost EGP 250 million, & is expected to decrease carbon emissions by 500k tons over its 25-year life expectancy.
The plant is set to provide energy to Nabq Bay in Sharm El Sheikh, allowing for 30% of the energy consumed there to come from clean energy.
So what?
The plant is part of a bigger plan by Taqa Arabia, one that aims to build electric vehicle charging stations, as well as stations for compressed natural gas, which can be used as a substitute for petroleum.
