The Clap
Saudi Aramco (2222) and Pertamina, an Indonesian oil, natural gas, and mining company, signed a memorandum of understanding to explore ways of cooperation across the value chains in hydrogen and ammonia.
The Deets
The agreement was signed during the Group of Twenty meeting with the global business community, held alongside the G20 summit on the Indonesian island of Bali.
So What
The memorandum of understanding contains a pre-feasibility study, which aims to assess the potential for cooperation in relation to the development of the clean ammonia and hydrogen value chain.
These include the potential for carbon capture, use, and storage at Pertamina’s existing facilities and other agreed potential sites.
Now What
The two companies will explore the feasibility of the investment and jointly develop marketing options.
This includes, but is not limited to, the regulation of businesses and commercial structures for clean ammonia and hydrogen in Indonesia, with a study expected to be conducted over the next two years.
