Salesforce (NYSE:CRM) reported that Slack CEO Stewart Butterfield is parting ways with the company 2 years after Salesforce acquired Slack for $27 billion.
What
The news comes just days after Salesforce co-CEO Bret Taylor resigned from his role after just a year.
Butterfield confirmed that his departure is not related to Taylor’s departure, adding that this has been the plan for a while. In addition to Butterfield, Slack’s product chief and senior VP of marketing are also departing the company.

The company saw its stock drop nearly 7% following the news during yesterday’s session.
Now What
Butterfield said he does not plan to do anything entrepreneurial, after establishing Tiny Speck which later established Slack.
