The Clap
Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) has been sued by consumers over its $69bn acquisition bid for Activision (NASDAQ:ATVI) as the deal is viewed as anti-competitive and will eliminate competition.
What
This lawsuit is another blow to the deal after the FTC sued Microsoft over anticompetitive activities to try and stop the acquisition.
The lawsuit was filed on behalf of 10 gamers in a few states in the US, who feel Microsoft can raise prices, limit choices, and hinder competition.
So What
The acquisition, if completed, will be the largest acquisition ever in the gaming industry. Both suits filed expressed concerns over Microsoft having too much power in the industry.
Now What
Microsoft has defended the deal, citing more opportunities for gamers and developers and more competition.
