Egypt’s Minister of Public Enterprise paid a surprise visit to Rakta Paper Manufacturing (RAKT) company in Alexandria, only to find the place in shambles.
What
Production lines were in poor condition, equipment was poorly maintained, buildings were falling apart, & even some security staff were undisciplined, leading to the minister promptly firing the entire board of directors.
So what
The visit came as the Ministry was looking to revive the paper industry in partnership with a strategic investor.
Now what
The minister ordered for a review of the company’s technical, financial, & administrative status, as well as a report on the company’s readiness to work, & hold accountable those responsible for the mess.
