The Clap
Amazon’s (NASDAQ:AMZN) hardware chief Dave Limp says that the company is still committed to Alexa voice assistant, despite the unit’s team being one of the recent job cuts’ biggest targets.
What
The company had taken serious steps to cut costs amid challenging economic conditions. Initially, 10,000 employees were set to be laid off, but that number was soon lifted to 18,000.
Limp still emphasized that the project remains a big project with thousands of employees working on it.
So What
Limp does not expect Amazon to significantly bump up the prices of its products, given that its key aim was to bring customers into the Amazon ecosystem, where they will become frequent users of Amazon and all its services.
Now What
A difficult economic environment forced Amazon to press the brakes on some of its projects in other segments like the telehealth sector.
