The Clap
Activision Blizzard (NASDAQ:ATVI) agreed to pay $35 million as a settlement for charges claiming the company did not properly assess workplace misconduct reports and violated federal whistleblower protection rules.
What
According to the SEC, workplace misconduct complaints were not assessed as per public disclosure regulations. The settlement does not represent any admission or denial of wrongdoing but ends the investigation regarding Activision’s standards between 2018 to 2021.
The filing also showed that many employees leaving the company were required to tell Activision if regulators tried to talk to them, a violation of the federal whistleblower protection rules.
So What
These charges have led Activision to revamp its disclosure processes with regard to workplace reporting.
Now What
Activision’s stock is down around 2% this year.
