Saudi Arabia has sealed a huge deal to buy 78 new Boeing 787 Dreamliners, Boeing’s fifth-largest commercial order in terms of value in its history.
What
Riyadh Air, the new national air carrier launched by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, placed the first order for its fleet of Boeing aircraft, which includes 39 “787-9 Dreamliner” aircraft with the possibility of an additional 33 aircraft.
Saudi Airlines also revealed the purchase of 39 aircraft of the same model, with an option to purchase 10 additional aircraft.

Yasir Al-Rumayyan, PIF Governor and Riyadh Air Chairman, explained that the partnership with Boeing aims to enhance Saudi Arabia’s role as a global air transport hub and make Riyadh Air one of the most important leading airlines globally.
